Technical Analysis Tutorial

What is technical analysis (TA) and is is worth learning about it?

Technical research is a financial markets strategy that claims the capacity to outlook the future direction of stocks thru the study of past market information, basically price and volume.

Technical Analysis is usually used amidst traders and, generally, is not supported by academic references and is often referred to as nothing more than wishful thinking...

Technical analysts ( or TA specialists ) identify price patterns and movements in any markets and attempt to take advantage of those patterns. Critics debate that these 'patterns' are merely random forces on which TA specialists imply causation. Critics make it clear that they see figures that are not really there and assign monetary value to them.

Basically, technical analysis scrutinizes 2 areas of trading : the research of market sentiment, and the analysis of supply/demand... A bullish investor without funds can't take the market higher.

Technicians attempt to predict price fluctuations to generate large winning trades while accepting smaller losing trades, thus positive returns in the long run through correct risk control and proper money management.

Technical research is sometimes seen as the opposite of fundamental analysis, the study of economic factors that some researchers say can influence prices in financial markets.

Technical analysts say that prices is already reflected in the price of the stock before stockholders are aware of them.

Some traders use technical or fundamental research exclusively, while others use both types to make investing decisions.

I use both and the impact one as over the other is usually related to the time frame I have in mind for a given investment, although i will always consider TA when entering and exiting a trade... The trend is your friend and you need to be ale to identify trends.
